December 4th and 5th

Hello my dears, I'm sorry for the lack of update yesterday.  I had an argument with Instagram and Facebook, both of which have suddenly decided that my blog violates their community standards.  Clearly Knitting, Penguins, and Advent are all highly subversive and dangerous subjects. Anyway, it upset me a lot, and I decided that there was no point in writing a blog if I can't even share it with people.

Obviously I've got over that, and I'm still going to keep my blog, even though I can't share it.  Hopefully people who are interested will come to read it using the old fashioned method of opening a web browser, and typing in the web address.

So, welcome to my highly seditious Advent Adventure of Indulgence, 2019!

Yesterday, my Advent of Change donation helped:

The RNIB, who work with blind, and partially sighted people to help them live a more normal life.

Behind the doors, and inside the packets of self-indulgence marked 4, I found:

Lindt - mini Lindor truffle, with milk chocolate shell, and white chocolate ganach.

Hotel Chocolat - tiny chocolate slab with Santa Claus on it.

Charms - Christmas Bauble stitch marker.

Yankee Candles - Evergreen Mist scented candle.

Imperial Candles - white soy wax melt, but I'm afraid I genuinely can't work out what the scent is supposed to be!  It's nice, whatever it is!

Cath Kidston - Christmas Village Hand Wash.

Bird and Blend - Eton Mess flavoured fruit infusion.

Made by Penguins - the bottom mini-skein, in a colourway called "Evergreen", and a Made By Penguins button badge.

Vicki Brown - the top mini-skein, in a colourway called "CMY", plus a sachet of SOAK, and a selection of coloured bulb pins.  I'm not sure if the bulb pins were actually supposed to be behind this door, they may have slipped through from a different day.

Gamer Crafting - the middle sparkly mini-skein, in a lovely icy white, cream, and blue, with a tiny hint of purple.

Today, my Advent of Change donation has helped:

Emmaus, who help homeless people all over the country get back into safe and secure accommodation.

Behind the doors, and inside the packets of self-indulgence today I have found:

Lindt - chocolate square

Hotel Chocolat - tiny chocolate slab with a penguin on it

Charms - snowman stitch marker

Yankee Candles - Cinnamon stick scented candle.  Oddly, this is much more subtly spicy, and more pleasant, than whatever that red one the other day was!

Imperial Candles - white soy wax melt, but again, I can;t work out what the scent is supposed to be.  It's different from the previous white one though!.

Cath Kidston - Christmas Village Bath Fizzer.  This is somewhat the worse for wear, because it was so firmly fixed in the box that I tried to pry it out with a nail file, but failed, and in the end had to open the box from the bottom, pull out the entire tray, spoil my surprises for several days, and poke the bath fizzer out from the back!

Bird and Blend - Kung Flu Fighting herbal tea, which is great, because I seem to be developing a cold!

Made by Penguins - the bottom mini-skein, in the colourway "Monet".  An exceptionally bright Monet!  Plus 3 beautiful stitch markers.

Vicki Brown - the top mini-skein, in the colourway "Fresh".

Gamer Crafting - the middle sparkly mini-skein, in gorgeous dark blues.

Stephen didn't give me a chance to photograph his advent goodies today, so I photographed the socks on his feet!

I asked Stephen to give Finn his advent treat this morning, he sent me this adorable photo :)

Regulars

FO's

I'm zooming through everything from now, because I have to leave in 10 minutes to pick up my sister from work, and drive to Newcastle, so my apologies for the brevity of descriptions!

I finally finished the mitred squares cushion cover!!!!!!!

WIP's

I've cast on the first of my advent Christmas baubles.  I'm using dpn's, which I normally hate, but for this one project, they're actually easier than circulars.

The yarn is Day 1, "Coconut Ice" from my Made by Penguins calendar.  I'll link the pattern in my next update, when I'm back from Newcastle.

Penguins!

I'm really pleased with my nail art on these!  It's just as good on my non-dominant hand as my dominant hand too!!!

Right, that's all for now.  I need to get Finn in the car, and head off!  I'll be back on Sunday.  Take care my dears.
