December 3rd 2019

Hello my dears, welcome to day 3 of my 2019 Advent Adventure of Indulgence!

Today, my Advent of Change donation has helped:

Plastic Oceans, whose aim is to remove as much plastic from our oceans as is possible.

Behind the doors, and inside the packets of self-indulgence I have found:

Lindt - chocolate square

Hotel Chocolat - tiny chocolate slab with a snowman on it.

Charms - gingerbread cottage stitch marker.

Yankee Candles - I *think* this candle was the "After Sledding" scent.  I confess I'm not a fan.  It had a very strong spicy fragrance that I felt belonged in the kitchen, while cooking food.  I didn't find it relaxing or nostalgic at all.  I used the candle to warm my penguin oil/wax burner with yesterday's wax melt in it, and the combined berry fragrance, with the spicy scent was more pleasant.

Imperial Candles - Pretty sure this is a Spiced Orange soy wax melt.

Cath Kidston - Christmas Village Bath Scrub.

Bird and Blend - Chocolate Digestives flavoured tea

Made by Penguins - the bottom mini-skein, super bright and cheerful spring greens coloured yarn, in a colourway called "Crocus"

Vicki Brown - the top mini-skein, semi-solid purple yarn, in a colourway called "Grape Soda".

Gamer Crafting - the middle mini-skein, sea blues and greens, with a hint of grey.

Finn is definitely a fan of this whole advent calendar thing!  Look at him sitting there so patiently!  He's such a good boy!

Stephen's advent bits and bobs.  He's building the Millennium Falcon as he goes along.  So far he's added the cockpit, and one landing leg, to the chassis that he got on day 1.

Regulars

FO's

I finished them!

4 pairs of adult sized socks were sent off to join their brethren, knitted by volunteers from all over the country, and be gifted to patients in Marie Curie hospices this Christmas.  Card, and sock band design, both by Sam Draws Things.

All 4 pairs were knit to a mix of my own (unpublished) sock pattern, and Marie Curie Quest Socks, by Sherlock Knits.  The yarns are West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4-ply, in the colourways "Marie Curie", and "Turmeric".

WIP's

So close to finally finishing the Mitred Squares Cushion Cover that I started during Advent last year!  I will finish it tomorrow!

Stash Acquisition

Yes, if you look closely, that is stash!  This morning I finally got to the post office to pick up a parcel that arrived on Thursday morning last week, while Stephen and I were still packing up to head home from our holiday for his birthday.  That parcel contained 3 little baubles, sealed with stitch markers, and each bauble contains a mini-skein.  These are by For the Love of Yarn, and even though I really shouldn't have been buying anything more for myself at that point, I couldn't resist.  I swear they're the last thing I'll buy this year that hasn't already been ordered as part of a subscription!

There are no new penguins to show you, but I hope you like the penguins on our tree!

That's all for today my dears, back again tomorrow!
