I declare myself to be better!
Today has been a good day. A little bit melancholy at times as we've been reminiscing a bit about Trish, today would have been her and Dad's 25th wedding anniversary, as well as her birthday, and we miss her very much, but she did leave dad with a lot of happy memories, and mostly it has been those that have occupied our thoughts today.
This morning was spent as the majority of Tuesday mornings with dad are: with the Friends of Ashington Woods.
Later we did a massive pile of adulting, and felt very accomplished about it. Then we met up with Davie for fish and chips, and this evening was spent pausing Person of Interest to talk about the subjects it raised, and go off on massive tangents (from BitCoin, to selling knickers, via how the Ring of Fire on the Pacific Rim formed) until Netflix went into screensaver mode. And of course it was spent drinking tea, burning a scented candle, and knitting little squares.
Today's candle was Snowflake Cookie, which dad quite liked too.
The tea was white tea with coconut and passion fruit, which actually contains all of those things, plus lemongrass, cocoa, and ginger. Although the tea I drank was the coconut chai from a couple of days ago, which was nice, but a little disappointing, I do think that the black tea tends of overpower the more subtle spices a bit.
Today's yarn was a nice autumnal mix of browns and orange, with little hints of green. Not my usual colours, but nice together.
That box contains all of the yarn from last year's advent calendar. As they currently live in my mini stash at dad's house, I thought I'd get them out tonight and knit an extra square or 2 from them too. The square from behind today's advent door is the one on the furthest right of the photo. I tried to take a photo after adding the extra squares, but it didn't all fit on my little table. I think from now on I'll have to stick to just photographing the square I've actually knit that day, because there's enough together now that soon it'll start to become difficult to identify which one is the new one.
That's it for today, night night folks!
